Job Description

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team responsible for Global Capabilities Services where we combine software and system engineering to ensure our services run efficiently. 

You’ll be part of a team supporting and improving services for multiple stakeholders and will therefore engage also in the meetings for project planning, reviews and incident response. You will help build operational tooling, automate operational workflows, perform architecture and design reviews, investigate system failures and complex outages. As well as improve our monitoring infrastructure, and define service level objectives.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Know how to build robust, fault-tolerant and highly scalable Web Services that support our global growth

  • Review and improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of our services

  • Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning

  • Actively contribute to create autonomy within product teams throughout tools and frameworks

  • Share on-call rotations based on the rules of engagement negotiated with Product Development

  • Plan and carry out product migration from on-premises virtual infrastructure to AWS cloud

Qualifications

  • An engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • Mastery with Kubernetes based container orchestration solutions and monitoring frameworks (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus)

  • Experience with Nomad/Consul/Vault and using Public Cloud (preferable AWS or GCP) in production environments

  • Good programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, Scala, Javascript as well as Linux system-level analysis capabilities

  •  Hands-on experience with stateful workloads like Cassandra, Kafka and Elasticsearch in containerized environments and IaC technologies, e.g., Terraform, Helm, Puppet, Saltstack

  • Working knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, internet routing and load balancing

  • Ability to solve technical challenges systematically with efficient monitoring and systematic documentation  

  • Ability to work independently and enjoy collaborating in a team environment
